iDesign Digital Video Glasses Reviews

The digital screen did not seem much bigger than if I were to look at my iPod itself. The only real benefit is that it blocks out the light when you wear the glasses. The headphones were bad quality and I had to max the volume in order to hear the audio at what I would consider normal volume. (I have no hearing problems) Since the screen only amplifies the iPod screen, it is very pixelated and degrades the quality; occasionally there are black streaks in the screen which contributes to the degraded video. Plus if you don't have the glasses angled just right, you feel like your eyes are being strained.

The problem is that they describe these things with such lofty comparisons as 'like being in a movie theatre' when in fact, its more like 'looking at a 1st generation lcd screen'. The worst part that kills me on these isn't the resolution, its the brightness and contrast. Contrast is ratio that says how many shades there are between the blackest black and the whitest white, and I swear this thing has about 12:1 when a decent TV in 2006 had around 1000:1. The brightness just doesn't help anything because if you aren't wearing a towel over your entire head, any incoming light will reduce your ability to use these things to where they're just weird looking sunglasses. Additionally, because theres no parallax adjustment, the outside column or two of pixels is cut off for me. I thought it was a neat thing at a good price and it is, but I haven't touched them since I bought them about 6 months ago because... Read more
